A few weeks ago me and my maids went dress shopping for their dresses. Even though I don't have my dress yet, I know exactly what I want, I just can't find it. So we went shopping for the gals. Each girl found something that looked amazing on them and they each are beautiful in the colors we have discussed. Kris in red (or garnet), KC in an olive green, Holly in teal, and Patricia in plum. They are by far my favorite colors, especially when the colors are all together.
But, since our economy is crap and we are all strapped for cash, I feel terrible telling each girl they have to buy a dress in a certain color. What if each girl wore a knee length dress of their choice? Perhaps in black or chocolate brown? Then, they could accessorize in their respected colors either with a sash, or maybe a flower in their hair? Something like that. I mean, no one has purchased their dress yet, and chances are a black or chocolate brown dress can be worn again much more than a bridesmaid dress in the above mentioned colors.
I would like to hear everyone's general opinion of this. Wedding party, moms, readers, etc. Ready? Go!

I say to talk with the girls. Get an idea of what they can and cannot afford. Get the max price they can afford and go from there. I think things work better when you make executive decisions as opposed to when you are more laid back. When girls sign up to be your bridesmaids, they know a cost is included in the job. I think you're sweet to be considerate, it's what I did as well. I got the dresses for 100 dollars and most of the girls don't need alterations, so everyone's happy!
kristen- honey im not concerned. ill wear what ever u want. its ur wedding. as anyone complained about the cost?
Well it seems that I am making a bigger deal out of this than it needs to be I suppose. Most of the girls say they will wear whatever. Now...where did I put the pattern to the dress with the poofy sleeves. lol JUST KIDDING Y'all!
