I'm a point watcher

So most girls as soon as they get engaged start going into "weight loss" mode. You may say to yourself "I just have to drop ___pounds before the big day." As much as an inspiration that beautful dress may be, I try to keep a few things in mind during my constant weight issues.

1-I am beautiful. Period. I love my curves (even if they are a little too lumpy right now!)
2-Being 5'9'' has it's advantages. I can hide my true weigh very well. At least I think so. So there.
3-Tom fell in love with me just as I am. Nuff said
4-This should be a lifestyle change, not just changes for the big day.

As much as an inspiration that the upcoming numptuals may be, I keep in mind that I am doing this for myself. A lifestyle change is important to me because it helps me to learn how to take proper care of my body forever! So this may seem like a long climb up a fools hill, but I am doing this for my own damn good. I am doing this for the present, for the wedding, and for a healthy lifestyle overall.

With this in mind, dear readers, please keep this in mind as I refuse to eat a double scoop of icecream with you, or try a second helping of your oh-so-good home made treats.

Here is a little more inspiration from a fellow Weight Watcher, Amy M. Her story is on the WW site:

"...my boyfriend proposed and we started planning our wedding for November 2007. I continued to lose weight at a steady pace until I neared the halfway point. That felt great, but apparently my body liked it too much. I hit a plateau at that weight for nearly three months. With encouragement from Weight Watchers and lots of hope and motivation, I stuck with it. Just last week I broke through and had a loss, finally, and the scale seems to still be going down. Plateaus are hard but I learned that if I stick to my plan eventually my body will respond. I also know that I'm not going to make it to my goal without stepping up my exercise level and that will require a new set of lifestyle changes."

She continues:

"Like many brides, getting married is a huge motivator for me. Not to be slim for a day, but to start the next phase of my life healthy and in control. I also want to be a good role model for my future children so they don't have the weight and food related concerns I have had. There are a lot of very rational, adult reasons that motivate me to stay on plan and kick another 27 pounds off my body. Still, I can't ignore the fact that after all the discipline and effort I've given to losing this weight I want to look and feel great standing in a white dress on the big day in front of my family and friends. That moment, captured forever on film, is the "Non-Scale Victory" motivating me to follow the Buff Brides Fitness Challenge."
