Being Grown Up Isn't Half As Fun As Growing Up

How was your Labor Day you ask? Well, you didn't ask, but I'm gonna tell you all about it anyway!

Saturday I went out with Kristen for Heather's Birthday. Despite going to numerous redneck bars in the Dena and GB, we did have a good time. Lots of booze and catching up with Heather. AND Kris and Heather's family is a hoot! They are so funny and a lot like my family actually. Good ol' city folk...

So Sunday Tom and I planned for all our good friends to meet us at Shorty's. Since everyone was off Monday for Labor Day, we thought there would be a good turn out. No such luck I suppose. When we got to Shorty's, it was dead. There were 4 people at the bar and we didn't know any of them! We texted a lot of people but everyone was in for the night. Big disappointment. So after a round of pool and a round of drinks, we went home. On the ride home we were bummed, but Tom was especially bummed. He really wanted to see all the people we haven't seen in a while. It wasn't until a few hours later I found out why he was so disappointed.

When we got home we were sitting around the house, watching some TV and kicking back a few drinks. He went to put on his jammies (you know I was already in mine!) and came downstairs, kissed me, and said "Will you marry me?"

Pause-Now, Tom asks me to marry him almost every other day. It's to the point where he is the boy who cried wolf. So I always brush that question off with "Sure" or "where's my ring, bitch?" or something smart like that.

Unpause- So I said "Sure" like I always do and stuck my left hand out to be a smart ass. Well, he called my bluff and pulled out a ring box, opened it and said something like "I'm serious this time." I cried, said yes and cried a lot more. We just starred into each others eyes smiling and kissing. It was very simple, very sweet and very romantic.

Funny thing is he has had the ring for over 2 months! He held onto it for so long because he was waiting ot get my dad alone to ask his permission. How sweet is that?!? He was so bummed about everyone not coming to Shorty's becuase he wanted to ask me there. In front of all our friends and acquaintences while "Living on a Prayer" was playing. yeah Living on a Prayer may sound silly, but that song was kind of the beginning of our relationship. If you have ever heard the story, you know all about it... If not, ask us sometime, it's great.

So yeah, Tom and I are now engaged. I couldn't be happier =)
